At first our needs were rather minimal and we did not need to get that much hosting. We opted to chose a service that provided shared hosting in the UK which was plenty for what we had going on. Of course over time our needs have grown and in fact we have recently added a number of new product lines. This is going to give us a much larger foot print on the web and obviously we have a lot more people visiting the site. The big thing, as always, is marketing. You have to let the world know about the stuff that you are now selling and where you are on the vastness of cyberspace. Before we do that we need to upgrade the bandwidth by a very large factor. You have to have the infrastructure in place before you start attracting a much larger number of clients. It is all part of a big plan that the company has been working on for a long time, but implementing it properly is going to be critical. You are drawing in a lot of new eyes and you can not let them see a big mess. The web page has to be ready to handle the increased traffic. If you bring people in and they have a good experience, then you might have them come back over and over again for years and years. That is exactly what you want. If you bring them and the web page crashes or is really slow, then they may get annoyed and leave to never come back. So it is critical that you manage to pass the first test of getting a client. You have to look as though you can be trusted to deliver on the promises that you are going to make them.
