Buying guns is expensive. My wife and I like to shoot. We are not hunters, just target shooters. If you shoot, you know how it is. You get a gun, and then you need a safe to put it in. Then you buy more guns, then end up getting a bigger safe. Fortunately, the used market is great for guns and gun accessories. I was able to sell our old safe for a good price to a neighbor. Even though we are just target shooters, we still use a gun cover for our precision rifles when at the range. I got a scratch on the barrel of a custom bolt-action rifle I like to shoot. There was a rusty bolt head sticking up on the bench I was at. When I picked up the rifle, it scratched the barrel. That was when I bought neoprene covers for all of our rifles and shotguns.
If you have guns, you know you like to keep them looking great. After all, these are things that get handed down from generation to generation in some families. I have a friend who has a double barrel 12 gauge that he still shoots. It was given to him by his grandfather, and now my friend is a grandfather. It still looks great because him and his grandfather took good care of the gun. It still has the original finish. He uses a gun cover on it when he takes it out to shoot to keep it looking great. Neoprene rifle and shotgun covers only take a moment to put on, and they really offer great protection to the finishes on the wood and metal of your long guns. I kind of think of it as body armor for my guns. They are inexpensive and fit like a glove.
